Cookies, Pixels and Analytics

Our website and emails use cookies, pixels, tags and similar technologies, some set by us and some by our partners. They keep the site working, remember your preferences, measure traffic and help show you relevant ads. You can control them as described in Your Privacy Choices.

Analytics and session replay

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Google Terms of Service.

Some tools record how you move through our pages, including clicks, scrolling, the vehicles you view and what you type into form fields. We use this to improve the site, troubleshoot problems and follow up on your shopping activity.

[[CONFIRM: CLARITY]] We use Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to see how visitors interact with our site through behavioral metrics, heatmaps and session replay. This data is collected with first- and third-party cookies and is used to optimize the site, for fraud and security purposes, and for advertising. Learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Advertising

We and our advertising partners use these technologies to show you ads for our vehicles and services on other websites, apps and social media, and to measure results. Our partners include, for example, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Epsilon, CarGurus and FordDirect. They may combine information about your visit with other information they hold, under their own privacy policies.

The Meta Pixel lets Meta show our ads to people who visited our site and measure how those ads perform, and Meta may link this data to your Facebook or Instagram account. Learn more in the Meta Privacy Policy, and manage your ad settings through the Meta Privacy Center and in Accounts Center under "Your activity off Meta technologies."

FordDirect

We work with FordDirect to provide us with advertising and related services, and analytics. This includes tracking technologies on our website that collect information about you and provide it to FordDirect, and our sharing of your name, email address and other contact details with FordDirect, including for advertising and related services and analytics. FordDirect may use that information under the FordDirect Privacy Statement. To learn more or make choices about FordDirect advertising, visit FordDirect AdChoices.

How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described below.

  • Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit and FordDirect: for sales reporting, warranties, recalls, rebates and owner programs, financing you request, and the advertising and analytics described above.
  • Lenders: banks, credit unions and finance companies that review the credit application you submit.
  • Service providers: companies that host and run our website, including Dealer Inspire, and our customer management, dealer management, chat, texting, phone, email and payment systems. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: through cookies and pixels, as described in Cookies, Pixels and Analytics.
  • Our affiliates: companies under common ownership with the Dealership.
  • People and businesses you direct us to: such as an insurance agent, an extended service plan provider or a co-buyer.
  • Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud, and protect rights, property and safety.
  • Business transfers: to a buyer or successor if all or part of the Dealership is sold or reorganized.

We do not sell personal information for money. Sharing online identifiers and browsing data with advertising partners for targeted ads may count as a "sale," "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws. You can opt out at any time in Your Privacy Choices.

Financing Customers

When you apply for credit or a lease, online or at the dealership, we collect information such as your Social Security number, date of birth, income and employment. We use it to evaluate your application and send it to banks, credit unions and finance companies, including Ford Credit, so they can decide whether to offer you financing. Lenders may obtain your credit report.

Because we arrange financing, we are a financial institution under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. Financing and lease customers receive our Financial Privacy Notice, which explains how we share that information and how you can limit some sharing. For financing information, that notice controls if it differs from this policy.

Online credit applications travel over encrypted connections, and we protect financial information under a written information security program designed to meet the FTC Safeguards Rule. We do not share credit application information with advertising partners.

Text Messages and Phone Calls

If you agree to receive text messages from us, we may text you about your inquiry, appointments, vehicles and offers. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase.

We do not share mobile phone numbers, text-message opt-in data or consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing described elsewhere in this policy excludes text-messaging opt-in data and consent; we share it only with the service providers that deliver our messages.

Calls with our sales, service, parts and collision teams may be monitored or recorded for quality, training and record keeping. Our website may show call-tracking phone numbers that help us measure which ads lead to calls.

Your Privacy Choices

Opt out of targeted advertising

  • Global Privacy Control: [[CONFIRM: GPC]] If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale or sharing of your information for that browser.
  • Ad industry tools: opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance, the Network Advertising Initiative, FordDirect AdChoices, Google My Ad Center and the Meta Privacy Center.
  • Cookies: block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them.
  • Mobile devices: on iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, use your device's ad settings to delete or reset your advertising ID.
  • Email: select "unsubscribe" in any marketing email. We process requests within 10 business days.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
  • Phone calls and mail: ask us to add you to our internal do-not-call or do-not-mail list.

Opting out of targeted ads does not stop all ads; you may still see ads that are not based on your activity. Cookie-based opt-outs apply only to the browser and device you use, so repeat them on each one. We never require an account, identity verification or more information than necessary to opt out.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws, including those of Tennessee, Kentucky, California and Nevada, may give you the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and get a copy in a portable format
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal information you gave us or that we collected about you
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects
  • Limit how we use sensitive personal information
  • Exercise these rights without discrimination, such as different prices or service

These rights have exceptions. For example, we may keep information we need to complete a transaction, meet record-keeping laws or prevent fraud, and information covered by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act or the Fair Credit Reporting Act is handled under those laws. [[CONFIRM: RIGHTS SCOPE]] We honor these requests from consumers in every U.S. state.

How to make a request

To protect you, we verify requests to access, correct or delete information by matching details you give us with details we hold. Opt-out requests need no verification. An authorized agent may submit a request with your signed permission; for access, correction or deletion, we may also ask you to confirm your identity directly with us.

We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, up to 45 more days, we will tell you why. Requests are free up to twice in any 12-month period.

Appeals

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing privacy@fordnashville.com with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within 60 days and explain our decision. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general, such as the Tennessee Attorney General's Office.

California and Nevada residents

The categories of personal information we collected in the past 12 months, their sources, our purposes and the recipients are described in the sections above. We do not sell personal information for money. Identifiers, internet activity and inferences may be "shared" with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can opt out using the button in Your Privacy Choices. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes the law permits, such as processing a credit application you submit. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. Nevada residents may request to opt out of the sale of covered information using the contact options above.

How We Protect Your Information

We keep a written information security program with administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to meet the FTC Safeguards Rule. Our safeguards include access controls, encryption of customer financial information and employee training, and we require service providers to protect the information they handle for us. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information, and we will notify you of a security incident when the law requires. If you create an account on our website, keep your password private.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including serving you, keeping vehicle and service records, and meeting legal, tax, accounting and manufacturer requirements. Under the FTC Safeguards Rule, we dispose of customer financial information no later than two years after we last used it to serve you, unless we need it for business operations or the law requires us to keep it longer. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it securely.

Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for adults shopping for vehicles and service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Other Websites and Visitors Outside the U.S.

Our website links to Ford, lenders, review sites and other websites we do not control, and their privacy policies apply when you visit them. Our website is intended for visitors in the United States, and we process and store information in the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We review this policy at least once a year. When we change it, we update the effective date at the top of this page, and we post a notice on our website before material changes take effect. The previous version of this policy was last updated in April 2023.
